QPR Suicide Prevention Training - Virtual

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer — three simple steps that can help you save a life.

This training teaches you how to recognize when someone might be struggling with thoughts of suicide, how to have that hard conversation without making it worse, and how to connect them with real help.

You don't need a background in mental health to take this training.

Just like CPR prepares you to respond in a medical emergency, QPR prepares you to respond when someone you love is in crisis — a family member, a student, a neighbor, a friend.

By the end of the training, you'll know how to:

  • Recognize the warning signs that someone may be thinking about suicide

  • Ask the question directly, without fear of "putting the idea in their head"

  • Respond in a way that keeps the door open instead of shutting it

  • Get them connected to the right support, quickly and calmly

This is about giving our community the tools to show up for each other, because sometimes, the person who notices something's wrong is the one who ends up making all the difference.
